leprechaun magic

so i realize this is a few weeks late, but had to share. since we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel, st. patrick's day was not at the top of my priority list. i did not decorate like i normally do. and it wasn't until the night before that maddie said, "mom, the leprechaun is coming tonight, and we didn't make a trap." so, sure enough she asks if she can look for trap ideas on pinterest or google. yep, she is tech savvy without me even trying to teach her. she goes into her room after asking for a few materials and comes out an hour later with the trap she made using a tissue box, wrapping paper, gold rocks(thank you michelle), and legos. she is so independent now, she really doesn't need me much anymore, which makes me sad, but is also kind of neat. 

that night about 9pm i came up with a special lunch treat for her. she loved it and said no one else had a lunch like that at school.

and of course, the leprechaun did pay us a mischievous visit, made some trouble, and left a mess. reese was very curious about all of this, a little nervous about yet another little, magical creature coming into our house at night, but had fun looking at all of the mischief.
