reese's milestones

turning 2 has been a milestone in itself.  since march reese has grown so much.  we can't believe how far he has come in these last couple of months.  first off, the dreaded pacifier.  i thought i would wait to take it away closer to his 3rd birthday {which i know is bad}.  but i just thought he would need it, especially with summer vacations coming up and not sleeping in his own bed.  however, the opportunity arose and he quit cold turkey.  and as it turns out he didn't need it as much as i thought.  no crying or whining, in fact i don't think he gave it a second thought.

show me your "beebo"

here's my belly button
onto talking... yes he has begun saying more words!!!! i still get giddy hearing him say "mama", "dada", "papa", and his most frequent phrase, "all done".  he just recently added "byeeee" and "wawa" for water to the list and today he said "hieee".  part of his therapy involves teaching him sign language and he is able to sign the word "more" and the phrase "my turn".

we have a little al bundy in our midst

reese is also my child who has the worst stranger anxiety i have ever seen.  to the point that he will not even let his aunts & uncles hold him.  he would cry in situations like birthday parties and fairs with lots of new people.  but again turning 2 has been wonderful.  we just took him to a birthday party at a bounce warehouse this past weekend and he had the best time.  in the past when we took him he screamed the entire time, so we stopped bringing him to parties and so forth because it was such torture for him.  but now he understands so much more about his surroundings.  he is smiling at the neighbors and giving people high fives.  i'm just in a happy place right now, and i think reese is as well!
