kindergarten rocks!

just thought i would share with you the other little kids in my life.  these are 23 5-year-olds that i consider my extended family.  after 7 years of being a 5th grade teacher and 5 years working as the assisstant principal {so-to-speak, they had a different name for it at my school} and job sharing as either a 3rd or 2nd grade teacher, i am now officially a kindergarten teacher.  i have to admit that i was coerced a little by my best friend, but i also wondered about it after watching maddie in kinder and thinking it might be fun.  and i am happy to say that i am loving it.  kindergarten is THE most exhausting grade by far, but so darn cute.  it is also very rewarding to see growth at such a fast pace.  for instance, one student started the year not even knowing how to hold a pencil and after 2 weeks could write the first letter of his name.  that was one of the most exciting moments so far, and the proud, excited look on his face was priceless.  can't wait to see where the year takes us.

{my second home}

{hard to see, but we chose a farm theme for our classroom.  thanks to my wonderful job share partner, and other best friend, we actually got this classroom up and running in a about a month.}
