so months ago we decided to remodel our kitchen. it has always been on our to-do-list, but we just didn't think it was financially feasible. thanks to our dear friend, todd, it was. i strongly disliked pretty much every part of this kitchen; the golden oak cabinets (installed when the house was built in 1990), 4 inch square white tile countertops & backsplash (standard in all new homes), hotpoint appliances (i know, i have never heard of that brand either), small island that provided no seating, soffit ceiling, sore thumb trash cans.
demo day. goodbye cabinets, countertops, appliances, island...
soffit ceiling, trash cans...
soffit ceiling gets new drywall. yahoo! i really disliked how that ceiling was chopped into 2 squares and how it made the kitchen seem small...
paint goes on. due to no light coming in from the west side of the house we had to choose a light gray color. i'm not a fan of dark rooms, natural light brings happiness in...
this next pic shows the outline where the new island will be...
cabinets go in...
my farmhouse sink goes in (wanted this forever!!!)...
and if it wasn't for this guy none of this would have been possible. he is like family. his attention to detail is impeccable. he thinks of things i would never dream of...
new island, which includes jason's favorite new part of the kitchen, the beverage fridge...
new quartz countertops...
glass tile backsplash...
new trash cabinet=hidden trash cans (another biggie for me)...
new appliances, so shiny and bright...
ta daaaaa...
there are still some finishing touches i need to make, curtains on the tall windows, roman shade on the window above the sink, some other wall decor. fun stuff...
new pendant lighting (in luv, luv, luv)...
this cabinet could not be changed due to the staircase being directly behind it. so todd updated it and we came up with a hidden gem for all of our sprinkles & food dyes...
