our 1st experience with any sort of camp was quite the experience. 5 straight days, driving to the beach {about 40 min}. maddie had so much fun learning to surf and playing with her friends in the waves, while the moms hung out for 3 hours. we signed up with 4 families from our girl scout troop. and even though i do love the beach, and i know what your thinking, "what a rough life hanging out getting a tan," it was truly exhausting. the packing up of gear & food, getting the second child either to school or with us, driving all that way each day, the crazy wind & sun, and then cleaning up all of the sand we brought home with us. not sure i would do it again. however, so happy we did do it this once. maddie learned to paddle out, turtle roll, and go up & over the waves. and my girl got up!!!! now it's dad's job to keep her going. lucky enough for us we have a dad who loves to surf.
