who doesn't luv spring break?

we spent the week filled with activities...

** i got to be "just mom" {my fav thing.  this work stuff kinda cramps my style.} the good friday before break and volunteer at maddie's classroom party, with egg on the spoon relay races dressed in crazy attire and easter egg decorated donuts.

** after easter weekend we headed to the river for a little family vacay.  long car rides are a breeze for these 2 now.  movies, ipads, and snacks, what more do you need?  and of course, what would any garcia trip to the river be without a breakdown of some kind? only 20 minutes from our destination and we score a blowout!! woo hoo!  we all knew it was coming.  poor maddie said, "i was really hoping we would get there without any breakdowns this time." and it couldn't just be a quick fix-it-and-go-because-we-have-a-spare sort of problem.  it had to be a 2-hour-on-the-side-of-the-road-waiting-for-AAA-because-they-send-the-tow-truck-from-300-miles-away-and-don't-discover-it-until-45min-into-the-wait sort of problem. and once the right guy got there it was fixed in 5 min. happy, happy, joy, joy!!

{but we did finally get to relax & float down the river.}

** then a sleepover for maddie, 2 playdates, soccer practice, late dinners, movies, and a birthday party.

...and before we knew it we were back in school, daydreaming about summer.
