birthday bliss

what a wonderful birthday weekend!  i was able to go out to an adult dinner with good friends saturday night.  which is always fun!  and on my actual birthday we took lil' lola to dog beach for the first time.  {in fact she just celebrated her 1 year birthday on feb. 28}   she loved playing with all the crazy dogs.  but actually, my kids had more fun.  they were rolling around in the sand getting it in all crevices of their bodies.  last night after baths i actually had to pin reese down to get the sand out of his ears, as he wanted no part of that.  then my favorite spot for dinner and daddy & maddie got an ice cream cake with the candles pictured above.  and the best part is, jason realized those numbers can each be reused for the kids' birthdays this year!  lil' man will be turning 3 exactly one week after me, and sweet girl will be turning 8 in june.  that will never happen again in our lifetime!
