beach days...

summer is officially over for mom. i'm back to work and missing my kids. beach days will soon be over as well but i wanted to share our summer beach fun. we actually made it to the beach twice this year with our new baby in tow. at first i didn't think it was going to be possible to visit our favorite place (lugging all of the baby gear, plus worrying about him in the sun), but we had a blast and it worked out great.

the first trip happened in the beginning of july. reese was 3 months old. the second trip occured when he was 5 months old, the end of august. it's amazing how he changed so much in such a short period of time.

it's hard to see, but maddie loves building sandcastles and using objects we find on the beach, like driftwood, feathers, and seaweed. here she is trying to build a bridge to her castle. what a fun age!!! we also like to draw in the sand with our toes. i was amazed to look up and see that she drew this octopus all by herself with her toes. i think we have a budding artist!!!
