princess madeline

so on maddie's actual birthday we took her to disneyland to celebrate with the princesses. ariel's grotto is a restaurant where each princess visits your table and chats for a short time. she adores dressing up like them and so we thought she would enjoy this adventure. sure enough she had the time of her life. i will never forget the look on her face watching each princess approach our table. as they got closer she would say, "moooom, she's almost herrrrrre!!!" and when they would speak to her she was speechless, eyes wide and mouth dropped open. their comment was, "did you lose your voice? because i did once and my dad had to go look for it." such utter delight. she could not even eat her meal she was just so excited. it gave me chills seeing her innocence. i wish she would stay this young much longer.

after the lunch we took her to get a new princess dress for her birthday. she has sleeping beauty, snow white, and cinderella, so of course we needed belle. as you can see she learned how to hold her dress in a princess pose as the they had taught her.
